My career path

I was born in Cairo, Egypt.

I began my studies at the American University of Cairo (AUC), majoring in anthropology and psychology. I then graduated with a Master in Clinical Psychology at the University of Paris-7 (Paris-Diderot).

In view of my interest in psychoanalysis and ethnology, I attended the seminar of the ethno-psychoanalyst George Devereux and I contributed to the theoretical and clinical work in the seminar of Marie-Cécile and Edmond Ortigues, authors of “African Oedipus” and “How to decide a child psychotherapy”.

I worked as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in different institutions (Prevention Club, Foster Care for women victims of domestic violence, Day Hospital for autistic and psychotic children, Community Mental Health Center (children, adolescents and families psychotherapy).

I did expert work as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in the framework of an EU program in Libya: support and training of Libyan doctors, nurses and psychologists caring for children with HIV.
